Ideas and Imaginations - The Creative Writing of Science
I've been volunteering at the Northern Ireland Science Festival for the past few years but now I'm hosting my own workshop!
Ideas and Imaginations: The Creative Writing of Science, is a ninety-minute creative writing workshop that highlights the interaction between scientists and artists. The objective of the event is to develop awareness between the fields of science and creative writing and encourage attendees to begin developing their own writing projects.
Not only is science writing developing to be a more creative field, but as science communication develops to bring wider audiences and greater accessibility to scientific developments, it allows for writers to introduce new ideas to their work. Northern Ireland has a great history of poetry, and therefore this workshop will focus on producing poetry. It encourages confident writers alongside those who have never written poetry before. We have two sessions: Sat 15 Feb at Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bellaghy 11am - 12:30, Wed 19 Feb at The Graduate School, QUB 4pm - 5:30pm. Both sessions are open to 14 years+ who have a love of writing or are looking to be inspired and encouraged to return to writing!
I'd really love to see many people there, so if you are interested You can book tickets here!
